I saw an interview with John Lydon, aka Johnny Rotten. Johnny had a radio show a few years back and invited Neil Young to be a guest on the show since Neil had mentioned Johnny in one of his songs. Neil refused! You write a song about a guy, and you don’t have the decency to even call into his radio show and talk to him for a few minutes?

Johnny being Johnny, had a few choice words for ol’ Neil.

I believe it was Hoosierdoc that said “what about Amazon? Who does he think is there with him? Does he need to get off there too?”

When you're a white guy, your statue can be toppled easily.

He plays guitar like I imagine Lars Ulrich would play guitar. After all these years. I mean god cripes, man, take lessons or something.

But hey...I hear Eric Clapton is available these days...

He can take his toys and go home if he wants. I find no joy in them deplatforming him. I bet he expected it, but is choosing to take a stand for what he believes.

Not a fan of Neil, but not gonna laugh here. As Cameramonkey said, i do question whether he holds all of his platforms to the same standard he is now holding Spotify to. And if not, why?

sad part is, a lot of younger folk such as myself who didn't know of him, now do.... I am not about to give him//he any attention, but I'm sure there are those who will hail him as a hero. I bet his audience and listeners/month will grow significantly. Either way, he won...

Yeah, he can’t be dumb enough to have thought they’d throw Rogan out just because he said so, but it was a move that was guaranteed to be an embarrassment for him.

I used to be a big fan of his, have seen him live a few times, but in recent years he’s just done too much to alienate a lot of his fanbase. I don’t feel sorry for him, if he wants to end his career as a total embarrassment, that’s his choice to make.

Great, just #%&@ing great, now none of us will remember what a sack of feral cats being swung around sounds like.
I will. Ever since this started Ive had the same annoying chord progression and words rattling around my noggin.

dun dun dun dun, dun dun dun dun, Hey hey, my my. Rock and roll will never die...

Thats it. Just that tidbit. over and over and over. +And its annoying AF. I may have to go listen to Roseanne sing the national anthem to get that out of my head.

Did he not have a contract with his label/agent/Spotify? I’m sure there wasn’t a clause in there for him to demand his content removed if they didn’t give in to his demands and remove other creators content.

The pending lawsuit might be more karma than the initial hissy fit. Curious how this plays out

I think somebody thinks its still the 70s and people actually care. I think he severely overestimated his importance.

I hope he continues to hold his course and does what he thinks is best for his brand. Good or bad.

I heard his songs when I was young, but I liked Skynyrd. Never had any use for Young. :twocents:
