60 PSI when the boost control failed. Bent 7 rods. (Skip the first 5 minutes or so as it's just a commercial for his stuff for sale.)

Also interesting is Leroy is getting a front mounted trans and a different rear end. Guess they are really going after that manual record.

    How's about a 5.88, 220+ 1/4 mile on a 275 radial.

Yeah man. At the same race a new record was set for a 315 radial car running like 5.75 at 228+ in the 1/4. It was Manny Buginga (probably misspelled it) in a red Mustang

For those not clear, basically a 275 radial tire is 8" wide and a 315 radial tire is 10" wide.

Fox owners are getting insane. Would I pay 20k for it? Heck no. However... built engine (supposedly, it looks awfully factory to me), aftermarket suspension setup, extremely clean. Definitely not a 10k car.
I think my "how-much-should-it-cost meter peaks at about 10k. Above that, I can't accurately evaluate the price lol

This was a great example of what drive me nuts. Ok on the surface it's a nice Fox. Then the seller claims a built or even just a rebuilt engine but give absolutely no info on who did it and what was used.

I wonder what happened to honesty and forthrightness. Is it all about the money? I suppose so.

I have really lost interest in looking for stuff on FB Marketplace. When I was looking for squarebodies, a lot of people made statements like "not much rust", "just surface rust", etc. And then not even post pics of the rust.

Another pet peeve of mine; "It's in excellent condition for the age." No, it's either in excellent condition or it's not. Aging is aging. Things go from new, like new, excellent, good, fair, poor or some facsimile of those terms. Grade your item according to that, not how old it is.

    Rant over. Carry on. :)

Often times private sellers are worse than the proverbial used car salesman.

A handful of years ago a friend of mine bought a Foxbody that the short block had been built by a reputable engine builder. But then the previous owner threw a hodge podge of performance parts on it that just didn't work together very well at all. My friend really didn't know better and just kept fighting it trying to make its better but he couldn't understand he was polishing a turd. I kept telling him just ditch the slapped together fuel injection system and throw an intake and carb on it and I bet it would be fine. Finally he took it to a shop to be dyno tuned. Tuner called him and asked who put all this together because it was "craptastic". Throttle body was too small for the intake, intake was meant for a different set of heads, stock injectors with a massive racing fuel pump and way too much pressure etc. Ended up costing him a bunch of money to get it right. When he told me how much he spent, I laughed and told him again I would have just slapped a decent intake and carb on it and been money ahead. But, he thought he had a bad hot rod...until he took it to the track and the time slip proved otherwise.
When he decided to sell it, yep he turned into a shady internet used car salesman.

When you buy something that someone has been playing with you are potentially buying the problems they couldn't fix

And that is why I look for unmolested vehicles. I want to do the work myself or have it done under my watch.

Truly worthy of a standalone thread but I suspect that Bob would approve of it being placed here; Bob Bondurant has crossed the finish line for the last time.

Read Bobs book on high performance driving back in the 80s.
Great book by one of the greats.
Wish I had made the effort to go to his school.
    Rest In Peace Bob

He may be one of "Those" guys. Pays to have the work done and gets a glazed over look in his eyes when you ask for the details because he does not remember what was said and may not really care as long as it runs fast and turns stops hard.
Shops make a killing off of "Those" guys.
