The point is, there should be a reasonable expectation that prices go up.

I don't see many people complaining that their annual (hopefully) raises are driving up prices.

    Anyone ever made that argument?
Funny thing, we didn't have that problem when we adhered to the gold standard.

Are you going to give me back the time it takes for your logistical gymnastics? Maybe an assistant? For an old, beat up heart patient the extra work is long, difficult, and in some cases dangerous.

Inflation is going to happen but that doesn't mean I should cheerfully accept that **** for brains puppet accelerating it.

The bottom line is that inflation will quickly compensate for any change in minimum wage.

Minimum wage was never meant to establish a pay scale suitable to do anything but preventing the financial abuse of children at part time jobs.

For the record, I have become well enough acquainted with the family that owns several local McD's well enough to talk shop on occasion. Their conclusion when this $15/hr nonsense started was that if it happened thd price of a Big Mac would be $10 or a shade over. That would put their more expensive sandwiches proportionately more expensive.

I suppose the question is whether or not you ard willing to demote more people to a minimum wage standard of living in a quixotic gesture toward something that is NOT going to happen, specifically squeezing wages to raise a family out of a minimum wage job.
    To answer the question.

I think minimum wage should be done away with.

I think if you don't make enough to live alone, live with someone else.

I think if you can't afford a big Mac, don't eat one.

Right now what is driving wages up? It's not minimum wage.

It's supply and demand. The cost of goods. Especially in states where the supplemental unemployment has ended. Indiana has right? Wendy's in Brownsburg can't stay open.

Now is that because of a spike in demand post covid? That is my belief.

Is it because of Biden’s policies? That is not my belief.

Have they raised the minimum wage yet herebin Indiana?

Are you paying attention to what you just said? You said (with significant merit) that wages are being driven by supply and demand, and then said it is not because of Biden's policies. WHO IS PAYING PEOPLE MORE TO SIT AT HOME THAN THEY COULD MAKE WORKING? It sure as hell isn't the Easter Rabbit.

With the approximately 1.5% per year increase I get (when we get one - as a gubmint employee)? No, I'm not making that argument.
Then you are making the argument that my taxes don't go up to pay government employees wage increases.

This is exactly what has driven wages up most recently. When people are being paid more to stay home than they could make at an entry level position at a fast food restaurant, who is going to go out and look for that entry level position? Between the stimulus money plus the extended (and enhanced) unemployment benefits, it has become a seller's (of labor) market.

We understand economic principles. That does NOT make us fortune tellers. We know significant inflation is coming without it being subject to question even if we can't make an appointment for you for the moment the manager updates the menu board.
Then either don't make hyperbolic statements or admit it when one is made.

Yes but hasn't that ended in Indiana? I thought so but hey I don't know near as much as you guys!

Are Bidens policies a continuation of Trumps?

Some here don't give Credit for Biden doing the right thing if its a continuation of a Trump policy

    The collorary true?

If you get sick and your doctor prescribes a round of antibiotics, is that good? If he retires and his replacement puts you on antibiotics indefinitely, is that good?

I haven't had time to take a **** since it ended. Get back with us when there has been time for the effect to settle in.
Do the same with a Biden Policy and I will return the favor.

What major Biden Policy are you blaming for inflation?

Can you not comprehend the inflationary effect of artificially driving up labor costs by paying people to stay home in direct competition with the marketplace?

Since you insist on being obtuse, I will try to break this down for you. There are times when an unusual solution is needed to remedy an immediate problem. It is helpful short term until the need no longer exists. Federal assistance to stabilize people when the economy was in a freefall was helpful (constitutional issues notwithstanding). Continuing this well past the pojntvwe are awash in unfilled openings ****s up the economy.
