A huge congratulations to Mindful Man on a stellar accomplishment. Second place winner Hoosier45 was no slouch and third place was a close race most of the way, but was eventually won by 88E30M50. Thank you to everyone who participated. I think I will go have a blizzard from DQ today to celebrate my 8th place victory ;).

T-Dogg, here is the zoomed in picture. Looks like those prongs on the steel were on the top.
That's what I thought. I've shot Brutus twice now and both times it hit about 6" left of center. This means that MM and I are going to have to spend some together and get that puppy sighted in. Only bullseyes are acceptable! I did love shooting that rifle and really appreciate MM giving me the opportunity.

    Good morning everyone

A huge thank you to our wonderful hosts. The women deserve a big thanks for providing such wonderful food, gifts and good conversation as well. I had a lot of fun, really enjoyed all of the conversations that occurred. The attendees were all fantastic people as always, the selection of hardware was incredible and the shooting contests added a new level of fun to the gathering.

Time to unpack, reorganize and begin serious practice for FGE in order to attempt to dethrone Patience from his master shooter title.

    Morning folks! :coffee:

It was a great weekend with some really stellar people. I’m sure that BA was there with us, just sitting in his chair enjoying the fun. Especially the gathering of BA Specials on the line to start each day.

This summer will be spent on load development for the FGE. I can’t afford to shoot only commercial stuff and get to where I want to be and I’ve got a box of 600 Sierra Matchking 168g HPBT projectiles to work with, so no excuses. I’m sure that I would not have to twist Tarzan’s arm too much to spend a nice summer afternoon down at HHRP to help me with finding a load that fits the rifle well.

It might be fun to put a rig together that I could clamp into the bed of the Taco that would combine a single stage press and beam scale. Maybe mount it to a couple of 2x4s and then clamp that to a concrete shooting bench. That would be a great way to spend an afternoon chasing loads and lengths.

Thanks to everyone for your expressions of appreciation but...

It was really your attendance that made it a great weekend, no a stellar weekend. All of you had long drives, spent a lot of time loading and unloaded and loading and unloading and loading only to unload and load again.

Without all of you, I would have been left alone to make-up stories about how good my wind calls were on Saturday.

Seriously though, I can't tell you how much it means that you all attended. I also have to express more appreciation for my wife who put in hours and hours of work along with rest of the summer kitchen staff. THANK YOU!!

A few of the regulars that could not attend were missed and Rick left a hole that can't be filled.

I sold off all my AR rifle stuff several years ago, went all carbine. After seeing the gear Saturday, definitely need a nice rifle. Reach out to 200 yards consistently. Nice glass, etc.

Found 3 remaining crack donuts in the clubhouse and brought them home. The girls each had one last night. Just found the other one on the dinner table. I guess I won't be starting another weight loss challenge today. :dunno:

    It was good, very good.
