The little 80% one Browning makes is kind of cool but way too pricey for dedicated 22I like the looks of the 1911, but personally, a 1911 in .22 is like a 2 wheel drive Jeep. Not really a Jeep (1911), that being said, if I came across a good deal on a 1911 .22, I probably would still pick one up.
You should reload for it, anyway. The original was developed to punch through the body armor of its day and was 130 gr pushed at 1300fps. The only way to get that is to load it yourselfI have often thought about a Colt Mustang because Dad had one. But I just haven't talked myself into stocking .380. I have also thought about a 1911 in .38 super, but once again... more new ammo for the caliber.

You can find one on gunbroker for the small sum of of like $25KOriginal Colt Python, Coonan 1911 in .357 magnum and a lever gun in 45-90. Those are the only two bucket list guns. The rest are just wantsies
The 38 super is a great round to shoot. When it came out it was the most powerful pistol round for about 12.5 seconds.I have a 10mm, 38 super, and 22lr on my want list. Didnt know they have them in 44mag, 45wm, and 50. Guess I'm not halfway...
I think that's 3..Original Colt Python, Coonan 1911 in .357 magnum and a lever gun in 45-90. Those are the only two bucket list guns. The rest are just wantsies
38 super was developed in the late 20s. 10mm in 1983. Like saying they should have put 30mm GAUs in P51sOr step up to the 10mm Underwood 135 grain at 1600 fps. May not punch through armor, but it's gonna leave a bruise!

And so it goes. Take on from the top of the list and buy it, add one or more new entries to the bottom of the listI have this pistol. And yes, it's too much $$ for what it is. But I tried my friend's suppressor on it, and now I gotta have one.
