The Exorcist. I can take clowns and slashers and big evil dogs, but demonic possession scares the living **** out of me. Maybe I would not be aware of this fact if my parents had not let me see it when I was eleven.

I'm one of those weirdos who finds most horror movies kinda funny.

But one that I didn't laugh at was Event Horizon.

One that I found genuinely disturbing was Audition. Japanese horror filmmakers are seriously eff'd up people.:n00b:

The ghost in the darkness. It’s an old movie, but it is based on a true story about some man eating lions in Africa. The lions are actually mounted in a museum somewhere in the U.S. Not the best movie to watch at a friends house at 2 in the morning after he has dozed off. Lol I had to sleep with the light on for a while after this.

For me it was The Legend Of Boggy Creek. I was 8 or 9 the first time I saw it and we were living in the country in south central Missouri at the time. Scared the hell out of me then and still makes my hair stand up now. It’s been digitally remastered and looks fantastic.

Not for the scare factor but An American Werewolf In London is my favorite and a damn fine movie. This transformation was way ahead of it's time.
    Shower scene...

I actually liked Event Horizon; it's pretty scary.

My first was Fright Night at a sleep over. It's dumb, but at the time it was terrifying.

Now days, I relish a smart horror film be it old like The Exorcist, or new like Get Out, or foreign like Suspiria.

The most recent that had me squirming was an Austrian flick - Goodnight Mommy.

Oh, and thanks Indiucky - I now know what I'm doing this afternoon. ;)

I never thought of it as horror, but it is basically Jaws on land, so I guess it fits. I really liked that movie. Had Val Kilmer and Michael Douglas.

The books it's based on is called The Man-eaters of Tsavo and the lions are on display in the Field Museum in Chicago.

The old black and white monster movies used to really get me when I was a kid. The most recent one I can think of to really get a reaction out of me was “Signs”. The scene where Jauqin Phoenix was watching the newscast and the live footage from the birthday party in South America, and the alien stepped in front of the camera. Yep, that got me good. I had the same exact reaction that Phoenix did on screen.

The only two that ever really creeped me out were Trilogy of terror, and Amityville Horror.

If a little doll runs through my house, or I see red eyes in my window, I’m going full on Rambo!
