wife and I have spent more than one anniversary there
Buffalo Ribeye and Prime rib the best I’ve had and we raise our own beef

    Old faithful lodge, Yellowstone.
    Breakfast buffet, biscuits and gravy
maybe the atmosphere but it was really good, most memorable breakfast I’ve had

Yellowstone was probably our best vacation yet, but the food was the worst we EVER had anywhere! Usually it all looked good but was terrible. I don’t remember which lodges but we ate at 3 different places for dinner. Saved the most expensive for our last night by recommendation from the people who checked us in. They told us about how great the food was and how romantic the place was. It was the big log lodge. Very cool looking place, it might have been the Old Faithful lodge. I had the New York Strip and I couldn’t eat it. Ordered it medium, it was bloody rare AND COLD! The mashed potatoes and vegetables were barely warm. I think with a beer, it was over $50.
Management seemed to not give a damn at any of the places we ate. The excuses usually were due to being understaffed (along with the terrible meals, we had long waits even though we had reservations.)
The best, and really only decent meal we had was a breakfast buffet at Grant village. It wasn’t great, just mediocre. But the best meal of our stay.

When we go back, we will stay in West Yellowstone and carry our lunch and possibly dinner into the park.

Mario’s Italian Ristorante On Arthur Avenue in the Bronx, New York. The REAL “Little Italy” of New York.
They have forgotten more about Italian cooking than any alleged Italian restaurant in Indy will ever know!

Giordano's in Chicago is great. The one in Orlando was such a disappointment.

My newest must is Avon, NC; The Froggy Dog. Excellent local seafood. I had the mahi, shrimp, and crab cake. All of them great.

    When I'm in Kokomo, it's Gabe's Pizza.

    In Chicago - Giordano's.

Really?!? Gabe's? Only had it once, and my thoughts were frozen crust, slather on some canned sauce, throw on a few toppings and cheese and shove it the oven. Unfortunately I don't think there is a truly good pizza place in Kokomo. Harvey Hinklemeyer might be the best of the lot.

Henderson used to have a ferrel brothers, back in the 90’s a snow storm hit and the only 2 places open were Audubon printers and ferrel brothers! So the company bought our lunch, we’d eat there a lot, but sadly they closed.

if you get to Henderson Kentucky there’s a bbq place called j&b (hurry if they’re still open, it only till December unless someone buys it) every time i’d Eat there I ordered the sampler platter with double potato salad (best potato salad ever!!!)
as for the bbq it’s great but imho the potato salad is A-MAZ-ING!

i don’t travel (and I hate Chicago!) but I’d love to take a Chicago “pizza tour” pizza uno, giodornos, and a few other deep dish pizza places, just to find out who’s is the best, I really hate the fact that there’s no “Chicago deep dish pizza” in Evansville.

Well that sucks! To be in a one of a kind place like the lodge a old faithful and have a sucky meal is well... sucks. Not our experience but we just did breakfast.
Highly recommend a cooler packed with all kinds of stuff when going to Yellowstone (anywhere for that matter) even if your staying in hotels. It is so massive lunch could be 40-60 miles away think the speed limit in park is like 35 plus it’s very expensive, bologna just tastes better there anyhow.

You must not have ever visited western Nebraska or at least tried to eat there but yes, the food in and around Yellowstone ranges from poor to mediocre and is priced like fine dining. It's not just Yellowstone itself but the area around it too. When my wife and I went we split time between Cody and Dubois instead of staying in the Park and the food wasn't much better outside the park. The best meal we had was near Grand Tetons NP and it was probably on par with the third best diner in a random medium sized town in Indiana.

Been to Cody ate at the Cody steak house (had to look it up on google earth) it was good as any steak house around here. Cody is a must stop mainly for the firearms museum but it’s also a neat town. Guess my experience in Yellowstone was unique but I don’t remember much about any where else we ate around there. We usually eat a good breakfast on the road and out of our cooler at noon and sometimes dinner, only go to restaurants every other night or so.
