I'd be happy if they released the probable cause affidavit

The redacted version of the probable cause affidavit is a public record. Contact the County Clerk's office for instructions on how to access public records under the state Access to Public Records Act (APRA). Be sure to ask the correct county for which case you want, as one officer is charged in Marion County and the other in Hamilton.

Practice tip: When requesting public records from state or local government agencies in Indiana, make the request under the APRA. FOIA is often cited, but it is a federal law and applies to information being held by federal agencies.

Why? So he can first be tried in the court of public opinion, possibly corrupting the jury pool? Neither of the officers in the original story needs any more details released than already. They both deserve due process. (Painful to say looking at fatboy and his allegations, but this is America. *sigh*)

Because transparency? Because the public has the right to know the details?

Because IMPD and the MCPO are not the gestapo conducting secret arrests?

Because with the release of information may come a valid reason and or defense?

I'm very curious and find the phrase "as to this case only" to be both curious and troubling.

There aren't any other cases. That is something they put in MyCase. Why do you have such a hard on for him?

I've been wondering this as well. I don't like the way this smells.
You don't like how it smells? Why because one of my biggest fears is oops bought a used gun and it turned out to be stolen? The only saving grace is that I haven't bought any Smith and Wessons in a couple years.

Or is it because I asked a question? I've never seen "this case only" on a single case. Usually it's on multiple cases or on cases that are consolidated. A reasonable assumption is that there is another case of something out there.

What case is it consolidated with? You seem to have so much knowledge about how MyCase works, so where is the "other" case?

The "as to this case only" is a standard part of a release order in Marion County. There are several criminal courts in Marion County, and they get this specific with the orders as a "just in case" protection, so that it is clear that the order releasing the person from custody is only for this one case. It is a direction to the custody staff that this release order applies ONLY to this case, and not any other cases or holds that may be on the individual.

Methinks you are being tried in the court of public opinion now on this forum for daring to be too inquisitive about a prominent member.

I’ve even been accused of being a troll myself at one point in this thread just for trying to get a better understanding of what might have happened.

OK this clears that ISSUE UP.

No one is being tried here. Questions are asked and answered as the info comes available. Just like this one.

First, let me specifically say I understand that it has nothing to do with this case.
I find it curious that a public portal is set up to differentiate between lawyers and non lawyers in what public information is made available.

It took a lot of cream to ease the butt-hurt, but I survived it. The dog piles and neg rep was the stuff of legend.

He'll I got negative repped by a poster in a thread I started because the thread didn't go the way the poster thought it should. I told him to shove his negative rep up his ass until he was choking and start his own damn thread so he did! At least strated a new thread anyway.

This is disconcerting. I see why some would push for more transparency.
Is there a time frame to where this flips over to full access.
