with that attitude just get a chain saw. an Ax may have done it faster, but what is more cool and ax or a sword?
I am not saying it isn't cool lol.Just that I would really have no use for one.
It is very cool. And durable from the looks of it,but I can not see myself using one enough to justify the cost.

I can see that, but I am playing in the woods more and more these days, why I finally broke down and got a machette. this thing though I will find uses for. kinda the same deal as my sig 556 if I don't shoot it enough, I will just sell it.

Wow, that was intense! Those knives kick so much ass, but I'm afraid I'm in the same boat as smokingman again, I can't see needing that over a stout hatchet to perform the same task with the proper tool for $40-50. Don't get me wrong, I love their products, they just ooze quality, but I see my money elsewhere in that price range.

    And by the way....

How much do you want out of that Sig 556?

for me it's that I know I can 100% trust it to perform no matter what happens, so basically it will keep me alive. buy once cry once, and they hold value.

Well the swamp rat rodent waki's are most certainly very nice looking & they appear to be very well crafted, but I personally could never justify spending that sort of dough when there are Corona machetes that can be had for under $10 bucks.

I replaced my old battered USGI machete that I've had since I was a kid with a Corona a couple of years ago & it's much more comfortable to swing all day clearing brush & overgrowth from the back of my property, so much so that I don't even bother wearing gloves anymore.

The Corona machete isn't your typical $10 five & dime store machete either, these are used every day by hundreds of thousands of people laboring in sugar cane fields & jungles all around the world, I'd probably liken them to Mora knives (cheap but very utilitarian).

Anyway I'll be looking forward to reading your review when it arrives, it is a very interesting looking piece of steel, that is for sure.

What I got from the video was that they will take abuse and still keep a nice edge. Obviously not the right tool for cutting down trees.

Now would I spend $400 on one? Probably not.

As far are clearing brush, thorns, and small trees give me a briar axe anyday.

    Peace,

    Ron

cost of rodent waki, $403 shipped, being able to cut the head of an angry bear off because you have 17 inches of 1/4 inch thick steel in your hands, priceless:D

    That is one impressive tool.

When I am in the field I find my self using my 4" blade and small saw 98% of the time. I stopped carrying a large knife.
