If you haven't seen what kind of robots Boston Robotics has been building for ten years, it is pretty fascinating. Along with other military manufacturers there has been quite a stir in the market for militarized robots. My question is: how does a man protect and survive against a machine with armor and the inability to feel pain or fatigue as the human body does? Cloud their sensory inputs? Somehow destroy the electric grid of the machine? The question might be a decade ahead of its time, but I'm wanting my brain to be prepared.

Use the power source from a future weapon. Use a hydraulic press. Drop them in molten metal (they cannot self terminate).

The same thing every other survivor does when an apex predator is near. Avoid its notice and GTFO of Dodge. If you aren't equipped to take it out (and chances are you aren't) leave it alone.

Now, the 12B in me would say if you know its coming, pit traps would probably work. Even a tank can get stuck in a basement.

power packs, powertrains, sensors (especially visual sensors and antennae) are all potential vulnerabilities. Unless they have an advanced power supply of some sort, battery power will limit their range/duration severely; especially if obstacles are encountered. Traps, pits, molotov cocktails, IEDs, acid, wire . . .

Wait for its battery to run down and then shoot whoever comes to recharge it. Battery development is lagging quite a bit behind the robots. If they go solar power the panels would be easy enough to damage with small arms fire. Hydrogen fuel cells could be a problem for us if they are sufficiently developed in the near future, but they have to run out of fuel some time even then.

I think fire would also be effective. Would at least damage sensors or seriously mess up any heat vision/infrared.

They probably wouldn't be so uparmored to maintain mobility. Could probably damage them with good old steel core 7.62x54 or any sort of AP round. .50 BMG would give them a whallop as well.
