Looking to some older firearms experts help here. My Father in law found this lever action rifle buried in the ground over 40 years ago! he stuck it in the rafters of one of his out buildings and forgot about it until today, and now it's in my basement soaking in motor oil. Wood is gone of course and tear section of the lever is gone but the rest of the rifle is there and solid. End of the barrel looks like a 30ish calber to me. What say you? :ingo:

Impossible to tell from the images. I would be more concerned with why someone chose to bury it in the ground 40+ years ago.

Welcome to the club. Not quite buried, but we found an old Remington double barrel standing against a tree once. Rusted all to bits but cleaned up to be an interesting mantle piece. Keep us posted I want to find out how this turns out.

Heh, wonder if it's still loaded.
