I am looking for a Springfield mil spec operator. I have owned a trp full rail operator for a while now and looking to give it some company. I absolutely love the full rail on the 1911 platform.

Anyone here have one? And if so how do you like it? Anyone shot both? How do they compair?

Oh yes. They made them. Last production was 1993 I think. If I read correctly. I tried to post pics but my photobucket is being difficult today.

I think you would have better luck finding the actual needle in the haystack.

I stand corrected! (This is why I was only 97% sure :): )

Part number is PB9105L, imagine that.

Good luck with the hunt! I'd love to see one.

    Hi,
Are you talking about the Mil-spec "Operator" of the late 90's.? Think model is PB9105L. If so I have one of the elusive buggers. Thinking of puting it on GunBroker or one of the other auctions.:patriot:

The common story is the Springfield Mil-Spec Operator PB9105L was Springfields entry to win a contract for a SOCOM RFB. Story says they did not win but decided to produce this model commercially. Read this somewhere years ago. For what its worth.
