Not as much anymore but occasionally I still listen to some Slipknot, Pantera, and a few others. For the most part I am a Chili Peppers fan along with a few alternative groups but most music of any kind all sounds the same anymore.

Man, I saw the Peppers when they were on the West Coast club circuit! Have been a fan every since.

Awesome song by Linkin Park. It's actually a slow song. It's hard to believe this group is mostly metal.

Use to be a big metal-head 20+ years ago. I still like to break out the Metallica, WASP, Ozzy, Anthax, Metal Church, etc. from time to time. That's what I miss most about my XM radio was the hair metal station.

I actually play drums in a rather well known death metal band based out of indy called Radiation Sickness. I also have another thrash band called Freemason. We (RS) have a cd about to be released at the end of the month. These dudes have been around forever, like 22 years lol, just started playing with them last month. Heavy as hell.

But I am into all the old stuff and some newer. Fear Factory and Cannibal Corpse are two favorites. The stuff kids play today melts my brain, way technical, but over processed, doesn't even sound real.

Here's a track off the new album from Radiation Sickness

Here's the other band I'm in: Freemason

    You may be right

    Hmm, "metal"? Debatable...

    :D

Some of their music is metal like. I wasn't sure what category they fit in. I like them so I declare them metal for my current purposes. Actually that song was on a crappy Metal Madness CD I was listening to.

I know we have the grammar and spelling police, I didn't realize we also had the metal police. Are you the commander and chief. :)

I'm just giving it back & I'm bored. Nothing better to do. I must have missed the definition of metal post. I am probably in violation with every other song I post since all my favorites have heavy music and lighter stuff which I post more often.

I've met you, I'll let you be the metal CIC. Just tell them I said it was ok if they complain. :)

This is my attempt to redeem myself for the questionable Def Leppard post.

    Well thank you :D

My mistake, it wasnt in thread, it was on my Wall but then I posted it here, lol..

If you consider Lacuna Coil or Metallica heavy metal, you need to go home, Gramps.

Personally I think defining "metal" is about as hard as defining "country". There are tangents within sub-groups on top of different influences, ad infinitum..

Actually I was listening to LP and my son was making fun of how heavy it was for me to be listening to. A little bit later he came back in the room & asked why I was listening to country & I was still listening to LP. It cracked me up. I told him Linkin Park's music is varied & that's why I like them so much.

I like Linkin Park, Three Days Grace and Stabbing Westward when I'm happy, when I'm angry and when I'm sad. Their music is so flexible it fills all of those areas for me. LP has me doing the air drum sticks when I drive sometimes. It's great. it's so silly that I do it that it makes me laugh.
