If you have any family, friends, you know are traveling around Vigo County it is icy and slick. I am sure it's bad elsewhere too. Make sure your elderly friends and family are taken care of.

Absolutely! I'm working until 10pm (though I haven't seen a customer in 3 hours) and while the roads in Lafayette and West Lafayette are moderately okay, I have a good drive to Delphi and once you're out in the county, it's a mess..

    Drive safe, folks!

I went into the post office and it wasn't too bad. 20 minutes in line later and the sidewalk is wet ice. I went down hard. Hurt one knee, twisted the other. I'm hobbling a little, but it isn't too bad. It really gets you when you don't expect it.

Roads were pretty rough in Lake and Porter Counties earlier today. Not sure how it is out there now, but between 3pm and 5pm the travel was very slow. No ice. Lots of heavy blowing snow. The worst part was there were idiots driving slow in the left lane while talking on their cell phones. SHUT UP, MOVE OVER TO THE SLOW LANE, AND DRIVE YOUR DAMN CAR!

"STAY OUT OF INDIANAPOLIS" not only do the roads suck big time but I think every idiot that ever got behind the wheel is out there. Just got home to Franklin and it took 2 hours from 465 and 86th st. to home. Usually takes about 40 minutes or so!

It's everywhere. It took the spousal unit almost an hour to travel from Warsaw to Columbia City due to ice/snow.
His normal 1 hour 10 minute trip was more like 2 hours and 15 minutes.
    Crazy stuff.

Glad I came home last night. I was thinking about waiting until today to drive home from Indy for Christmas break, but I went ahead and went last night. It's tough out there. Icy roads here in Madison, but not too bad.

    It's bad over here too.
When I started my afternoon route, it wasn't too bad. It had stopped snowing. But, before the end of my PM route, it started "misting". I saw a car off the interstate and the roads weren't even too bad yet.

After I got off work, on my way home, (on the interstate) I saw a car go into the median. (Driver ok, probably shaken). My windows started freezing up even with the defroster on high. (but, when I stopped for a light, they defrosted.) Took nearly a half hour for a 10 minute drive.

I'm getting ready to go out and check the door of my truck to see if it's frozen and to try to defrost the windows so I won't have to do it early (5:45am) in the morning.
I'm dreading the AM drive.:nailbite:

Yeah, depending on the road crews, it may not get much better by morning.

They plowed our neighborhood just before it started changing to freezing rain and didn't use salt, so now the roads are so slick people can't get up the hill to get out of the neighborhood, and those coming in can't get stopped at the bottom of the hill. It's a mess here.

My smal town doesn't bother plowing, or hasnt yet this year. I went out and slid around for fun. I LOVE IT! I only spun out once without meaning to, but i don't let that happen near anything dangerous. Great fun!

Well just got back from running my school bus route...... it sucked, we had at least 10 buses stuck.

I want to talk to the person that thought "no we don't need a 2 hour delay".

Saw a bus in a ditch on west 56th just before the resevoir this morning. Made for a HELL of a traffic back up!

My route wasn't too bad. Only slid twice and got to the schools about 15 -20 minutes late. Not too bad at all. No fender benders or anyone stuck.
One driver did fall next to her bus, tho.

Our HS has finals today and tomorrow, so they get out early. But the other two schools are on regular time. :xmad: Makes for a LONG day!

My wife was driving my Ford Exploder today and just found out that someone nailed it in the parking lot. Thankfully my wife wasn't hurt and she got their insurance info, but now we've got to deal with that.

My wife was driving my Ford Exploder today.

I'm assuming this was a typo, either way made me laugh. Wonder if Ford has started buying parts from the same suppliers Glock uses...:):

Calm down GlockNation, I'm just kidding around. :):

Sorry to hear of the accident though, glad your wife wasn't hurt. :yesway:

I had an appointment at the VA in Indy yesterday and as I got home, North of Terre Haute, I heard on the radio that there was 10 accidents in a small tract of I70 west bound. I take that route when I need to make time. Yesterday I decided I had time and that taking it slower on 40 would be better. I slipped a few times and had plenty of room, and nothing bad happened. Sometimes we need to evaluate the routes we take and the time and road conditions. Also knowing the routes and weather patterns helps a lot. The precipitation was coming mostly from the west -south west and the slopes facing that direction were slippery. The flats weren't so bad, and the slopes facing north directions weren't very slippery, but were wet.

Thank God for the time to do the right thing.
