I think a lot of it depends what the sticker is on. I drive a nice, newer pickup with an NRA sticker and a Harley-Daividson hitch plug with no trouble.
Put that on an old beat up p/u with 4 bald tires and a long haired guy with a beard behind the wheel and it might be different.
It's not fair, but thats how it is.
Everytime I see a little import car with a fart can muffler and a big stupid wing on the trunk, I instantly figure it's some smart @ss kid with baggy pants and a pocket full of dope. I shouldn't feel that way, but if I were a cop I'd figure thats a good one to pull over.
Regardless, let em pull me over, I have my ltch and don't have anything else to hide.

If citizens respect the law, the law will respect them. Lie to me about your weapons and you will have problems.

Ask about my weapons with an attitude and you will have problems. I'm under no obligation to answer any questions, and if asked to step out of the vehicle, it's getting locked behind me with the keys still inside.

I respect the law...well, the Constitutional laws anyway. That's why I don't inform an officer if I am carrying when I am inside a vehicle as there is no DUTY TO INFORM law in Indiana. :twocents:

I try not to draw attention to myself so I don't have bumper stickers but I do remember one saying something like "I would rather be whacking tangos" and just thinking to myself that he is begging to be screwed with.

There is no law stating that I have to tell a LEO that I have a firearm in my vehicle. Now, If I'm asked in a respectful and polite manner. Then I have no problem saying anything. If I feel like I'm being harassed, then I'm not saying a word. I have experience as a LEO. There is a difference bewteen upholding the law, and being a ****, just because you have a badge and a gun.

I have a small (2"x3") safety yellow sticker on my drivers door that has a depiction of a 1911.
    Below is the following text,

    Notice

    Driver is loaded

The owner of this vehicle is licensed to carry a concealed weapon.

    Use appropriate caution

I call it my fair warning sticker, and this is by far not the only pro-gun advertisement displayed. :patriot:

Sounds like that would be enough to get you placed face down in the slush on the shoulder of the road with a knee in your back while the officer cuffs you preparatory to putting you in the back of the patrol car and searching your vehicle from bumper to bumper with everything spread on the road to be inspected.
I prefer to be under that radar.
But, if that works well for you, more power to you.

That's what I was thinking too.

No ****. I don't sticker up my vehicles any more either. I do not want to advertise anything.

Understood, but it is sad if America has come to a place where we have to self-censor ideas - particularly ideas about American Freedoms - for likelihood of being harrassed by the authorities.

Yes, which is why they're issued glocks.
    And I like Glocks.

    On my truck I have:

    Denver Broncos hitch cover

I wonder what kind of probable cause that creates?
    Full body cavity search!!!!
    More like a lobotomy.

Uh, I believe you got that backward, friend.

You work for me (and however many other people call your agency's jurisdiction home). Not the other way around.

Crap, I hate when I hit submit instead of preview. The only proper response to the unjustifiable PC charge or defacement of property based on its decorations is unadulterated outrage. This crap about "that's why I don't...." has some unpalatable implications.

I have been lurking here for a looong time...decided to make a account and start to post....LOL @ author of this article...He actually used "probable cause" and pat down in the same sentence. Ive been a LEO for 5 years.....Probable cause is not needed for a terry frisk.......The guy told him he had a license to carry hard to make out in the audio but its there..For their own protection, police may perform a quick surface search of the person’s outer clothing for weapons if they have reasonable suspicion that the person stopped is armed......I introduce to you terry vs..Ohio...

That being said the guy took a confrontational standpoint..Your stopped for an infraction and you choose to exercise your right to remain silent?..If I were that officer based off that guys behavior he comes off as a sovereign citizen type nut=most dangerous type of person.

If the guy would have just told him he had a gun and and permit the stop probably would have lasted about 6 minutes. I see that pink peace of paper and my mindset totally changes. 98% of permit holders=law abiding citizens....probably more apt to get a warning to...
