Are we having fish for breakfast?

    If we catch anything haha.

For those going if anyone want's to pitch in and bring some food we can all have soom good eating, thing's like hot dog's burger's, bun's ect ect then PM me. Try and bring at least some things that can be cooked over a fire though to help with the experience. If everyone just want's to bring their on stuff then that's fine also.

I miss living near the water in VA.......... you could put out crab traps and have some GOOD eating.

Id be down for fish, eggs and bacon for breakfast haha.

I wasn't aware that there was a fishing area. I will most definitely be bringing my rod and reel. I may bring an extra in case someone want to fish with it. I will bring some night crawlers and worms, but mostly expect to do some bucket mouth fishing.

I am so ready for this.

I've always wondered about eating "the wild", but this is a teaching class get away, not a eat the ants get away. So :yesway: to cobbler or bunny stew and :noway: to ants and moss.

Now if we are lucky enough to catch a mess of crawlfish, then I'm in.

    No ants! :nono:

For anyone interested in this class we are not posting the dates of the class to prevent any issues with PETA or anti-gun people (been getting some PM's on this). If you are seriously wanting to come PM me or Ranger. As of now though you may have to rent your own camp site or chip in with someone else.

I got a PM about this and I don't think it has been adressed and it is a good point so I will post it because I have forgot items before that made me miserable for day's on end.

Bringing a poncho even a cheap one is a good idea incase of rain, a good pair of boots is also (feet don't get wet as easy). If money is tight then bring a big trash bag (it works well).

Bring a few pairs of extra socks (not including the ones you will bring to wear) and put them in zip lock bag's. Chances are your feet will get wet and you will want dry socks. Wet socks and wet fear will tear your feet up quick.

A few energy snacks in your pack would be a good idea for extended times in the woods.

Dave - I know you're trying to prep everyone that is coming for this, and I personally appreciate it. However, has the list of items and the Emergency Info been passed to all interested? I believe, from your latest posts, that there are others who have shown interest and I wouldn't want them to show without the need items to enjoy their trip.

    Just trying to cover bases,

Also...I am getting more and more antsy by the day. I am so ready. I might show up missing something, but I'm ready none the less.

i sent everyone a required list of items which is basicly bring camping gear so you will be comfortable, just like you would for any camping trip. since this isnt an advanced class we wont actualy be living off the land, but i still would expect people to bring things like a hat, water bottles, hiking shoes or boots (plan incase they get wet), long sleave shirt, pants, extra socks, bug spray, sun screen, of coarse your tent and sleeping stuff. your own food for the weekend. thats just the basic stuff.

i would like for people who already have a bug out bag to bring it, or any survival kits you have. if there is sensitive items in there you dont wish to share with the class then just leave them out. we will be going over gear and making recomendations and also giving experiences with different gear etc. this will be a good size class and we will have a good and informative time.

Will someone be bringing a video recorder? I'll bring my camera, I want to get some pictures so when I'm old I can look back and tell everyone how I was teaching a bunch of armchair QBs how to make fire with a rubber band and a band-aide.
