I got to fire my INGO lower today. It's is a CMMG lower parts kit, PSA 8.5in 5.56 upper, pistol buffer tube & the CMMG 22lr conversion.

I can fire a , then have to switch it to safe and back to fire to fire the next round. I lubed the bolt and lower parts. Before and after, no change.

So what did I mess up when I put the lower together?

Did you put the buffer and spring in correctly?

    Pics ?

eta: I think I misread it. Are you saying the rifle cycles but won't fire again unless you put it on safe and then back to fire?

Kinda sounds like the trigger isn't re-setting properly. Pushing it to safe, then fire, drops it from the notch thingy?

sounds like trigger isn't returning or not disconnecting. I'm not familiar w/ the 22 kits to know if they have anything to do w/ it. make sure trigger return spring is in right, first. safety probably just pushing trigger forward (pushing down on the rear of the trigger). does it work if you use your finger to push the trigger forward between shots? if that's not it, look to the disconnector and its spring.

Pull the upper, dry fire, manually reset, dry fire (use your finger to keep hammer from hitting lower). See if that works. Take the upper out of the equation.

After I got home, I started checking it out. I found this.

    Look at the spring.
    Would that cause the problem?
When I push the hammer down and fire (stopping with my thumb ) it would work all the time. When I use the charging handle and fire it would work most of the time.

Putting the spring back didn't fix it.

When it does it, it can just barley move the trigger forward and it will let me fire the next round.

When it's like this I can fire.

When it's like this I have to push the trigger forward or put it on safe then back to fire, to fire the next round.

I had the trigger spring upside down.....

Now that it's in right and it seams to be working. I will be able to test again Monday when I'm back at work.

That's not uncommon when assembling a lower. rvb nailed it on the first try. Checking to make sure the trigger spring is installed the right way when having trigger issues on a new build is the first step one should take to find a remedy.

    Nope.

IMHO it should be obvious how it goes together.
If any question one could try the variations and come to the proper conclusion before range time.

And that before forums or Youtube.

No big deal.............but still just a wee bit silly to get it wrong LOL.
