Thanks for posting that link. It seems the gist of the left's argument is that although new gun control won't stop all of these kinds of tragedies, they feel as though have to do something. When an assault weapons ban doesn't work, they will keep tearing down the second amendment until it is either abolished or just words on a piece of paper.Here's another:

So, scoping things to simply "gun" crimes is artificial and plays to the gun control assumptions that "guns are bad" and "guns are the problem."
Don't let them dictate the terms and/or language of the debate. Don't play their game.
