Another good time. A little cold when the Sun was hiduing behind the clouds and the wind was blowing, but not terrible.

My brother was able to accompany me this month. Thanks Pete! He loved shooting your Springfield, M1 and Mosin. :D

Yes, fun and eats had by all. It was a good turnout. Lots of toys were there. Thanks to Jedi for all the work he did. I'm tired.

    --FINANCIAL UPDATE--
    Pre-Event Pot: $10
    Expenses: $0.00
Donations: $20 (hooiser buddy; new member that is signing up to INGO today learned about us from AR15.com)
    Post-Event Pot: $30.00

    --FOOD UPDATE--
Thank you to all that brought food this time around.
The guacamole was yummy and guess what NWI INGO we are now the proud owners of a big white ceramic bowl that the guacamole came in. ;)
I think we should give it to Raitekk so he can make more guacamole, off course I'm going to have to figure a way of painting it PINK first. :p

This is what our inventory looks like

Case of water (minus 1 bottle)
4 bags of chips (not opened)
1 jar of salsa (not opened)
    2 ketchups (not opened)
    2 mustards (not opened)
    2 relish (not opened)
2 boxes of hot coco coco mix, 20 servings (not opened)

We got a nice 300 plate donation this time around. :rockwoot:
We also have a semi full body of Ketchup, BBQ sauce, relish and 1/4 of mustard. Napkins are running 1/2 way down but we have enough for the next one. We will need them for the JUN and JUL meets.

    ---THE RANGE---
Looking nice as usual. They were not flooded and the group while wet was not soaking wet like up in NWI.

    --NEW GUEST--
We had some new guest and their guest show up. I think they enjoyed it but I'll let them post their thoughts. BTW we are famous on the interwebs as other forums know of us and that is now some of the guest came to our event today.

    --SPECIAL EVENTS--
We held 1 competition: the rifle shoot.

    1st place was ShootinDave
The Boo-Boo Award goes to xTasee
(Won a little PURPLE coffee can and the boo-boo award)

If you want to see what the new boo-boo award looks like you need to show up to one of the events. :p

The "sink my battleship" target was not used. mrobnoxious1 used another target that I think gave the group a good challenge. :D

    --DNR WINAMAC TALK--

    --MY DAY--
Still working with the M1 Carbine and went back to the drawing board in terms of reloading for it. Thank you INGO reloaders!

Shoot rounds ranging from 14.0 gr to 14.9 gr and found out that the rifle
    several different loads.

With FMJ 14.8gr is the winner, followed by 14.6gr.
With Platted 14.0gr is the winner.

    30car-platted-best.jpg

You can read the full details in the reloading channel of INGO.
I also found out why the rifle is/was shooting high.
The backsight has adjustments for 100, 150, 200 and 300 yards.
I have set it to 100 yards when on the 25 yard range. However after the first shoot the recoil will push the sight to the 150 level. Late month I did not relaize this and thus why all the shoots were going high! This month if I pushed the sight back to the 100 yard position guess what.... :D  it was shooting where I was aiming! So I just need to figure a way to keep it on the 100 yard sighter.

Ran some appleseed targets and below are the results.

    Test 1 - 14.0gr platted ammo: 170 (Sharpshooter) Lv2
    Test 2 - 14.5gr FMJ ammo: 144 (Marskman) Lv1
    Test 3 - 14.5gr & 14.9gr FMJ ammo: 144 (Marskman) Lv1
    Test 4 - 14.6gr, 14.7gr & commercial ammo: 108 (Unqualified)

So the right amount of powder does make a difference. And the commercial ammo sux!

I was able to shoot TV's 'nnnnnooooo' gun again the M1A as well as wolfeden's FNAR. Thanks both of you. The FNAR is nice in terms of recoil (you can't feel it!!!) but it feels too long for me. And I suspect it's more of a reach out and touch you rifle (ie. long distance) not like the Heavy Scar.

In any case in shooting these guns I think I have come to the conclusion that it's the Heavy Scar I want for the medium range stuff.

    ---Final Comments---
Special thanks to repeater who brought the plywood and did NOT charge us for it. He said it was his donation.

Thanks to all that brought food (the pies were ). I so did NOT care for those :puke: cupcakes. ;)

I'm sure I'm forgetting stuff but I'm tired right now. Still have to clean a rifle, take a shower, eat, etc... **sigh** never ends...

Oh BTW I tried to escape to someplace nice today but a THUG arrived at Winamac and then on my way out that THUG followed me via the back roads to go back to Lake County. Just can't get away from them THUGs!

I had a great time! This was my second M&S, and it was just as fun as I thought it would be.
It wasn't too cold on the 25, but once you went over to the fifty, where the wind could hit you more directly, it became very unpleasant :n00b:
I met a few more cool people today:ingo:. I also was introduced to the existence of the almighty bacon cupcake!
I am glad everyone enjoyed the guacamole!

The guys from the ar15.com were cool. The dad let me try out his AR and couple of his handguns.

I got to adjust the rear sight on my M&P 9, and I pretty much got it dead on.
The M&P 9 itself ran flawlessly, as expected. However, my newest magazine, didn't seem to like the steel cased ammo.
I gave it a cleaning with Froglube, and the problem pretty much went away.
Once I got home cleaning took about 5 minutes thanks to froglube making it so easy to wipe off the crud, looks as good as new.

I think I heard Jedi saying how much he wishes he could own a GLOCK!
    :laugh::laugh:

I guess I deserve that for all the LEGO jokes xD :laugh:

Had a great time as well. My father did as well. Thanks for everyone helping move the gear back and forth from the truck. Was able to shoot quite a bit today as well, thankfully due to having ammo and time. Glad everyone enjoyed firing all the weapons as well. I know there are a couple more of you guys that are wanting to get an M1 Garand now. I will be bringing out that pretty much every range, so those wanting to, feel free to bring as much 30'06 to shoot through it.
If needed, for next range, I can make sure to help make sure we get the cheaper boards, since I did not see them until after I paid and was leaving. Granted, they were still cheap, but we could have gotten one more board for the price. Lesson learned #1. Lesson #2 learned, apparently bringing all the rifles, good idea, not bringing all the ammo cans (trying to save a little space, time and a trip), not the best idea, since I apparently put my AK mags in one. Will be making sure that I have all those for next time, everyone wanting to shoot those.
Jedi, no problem on the donation. Figure that helps the range out, and its the least we can do for them letting us enjoy the day like we do out there.
Lesson #3 learned, when they call for chow, get there right away, instead of enjoying shooting. Sometimes food gets gone fast. I did get to enjoy the cupcakes though, love the new frosting. Bacon bits on the inside was a nice touch too. Hope that everyone else had a great time as well, and as always, we are looking for anyway to help everyone enjoy the Meet and Shoot days more.

I'm glad the cupcakes were enjoyed. I gotta say, it feels good knowing the hard work isn't wasted. I will never ever know what they taste like since I don't like bacon. The only thing on them that I will taste is the frosting.

Pete, thanks for letting me shoot your AR. Hopefully Kevin is taking notes for my birthday. ;)
Nipprdog, I like what your Handiriflehas grown up to be. Handsome shooter!
Raitek, I will shoot your m&p 9 next time.
KLB, I will bring the extra frosting for you next time as well. Do not blame me if you turn into a diabetic afterwords. :)

Oh, i was asked if you had any leftover cupcakes that you would not mind giving up. No problem on shooting the AR, and glad that Kevin has so many to chose from. The SCAR, the AR, and many more to follow....

Here is the link for those gloves you were asking about. The price went up a bit. :faint:
I think I got them when amazon had a sale or something.

:dunno: It wasn't me talking to you about gloves yesterday. BUT! Thanks for the info. I have been looking for a good pair of shooting gloves. I would probably need a medium in those, and of course Amazon doesn't have them (at least in the link you provided). The larges are only $16.21, and for me ship prime. I'd pay $16 for a pair of good gloves any day!
