(Hope this link works. First time trying photobucket.)

1988. I was at a new friends house with my best friend. New friend showed my buddy his moms .38. While I was in the crapper, they decided to scare me. Turned the gun upside down and shook it. 5 rounds came out. It was a 6 shot. I opened the bathroom door and my buddy was standing there with the gun pointed at me. Boom. The bullet parted my flat top, went through the door jam, medicine cabinet and lodged in the window sill. If I had my shoes on, it would have been a different story. My scalp had heat blisters on it but the bullet never touched my skin. To this day, I thank God I was spared.

Even at that age, I knew the rules of firearms. My (former) friends did not.

Glad it wasn't any lower. Like the hairstyle though. Keep it cut that way as a reminder for every idiot you meet.

Edit: i'm a tard and didn't read that it was from 88.

Back in '88 kids could still get their ass tanned. I seriously hope the parent(s) did so.

    I know mine would have.

Wow... what a story. Glad you made it alright and glad that it didn't make you unrealistically afraid of guns. It was the person behind the gun that made it dangerous to you, not the gun itself. Out of curiosity, did it deter/scare you away from firearms for awhile? Why or why not?

I was 11 when this happened. It never made me afraid of guns because I knew, even at that age, it wasn't the guns fault. Although it still hammers down the 4 rules even stronger everytime I am around a firearm.

Both boys were punished by their parents, one severely. I had little contact without them afterwards for obvious reasons.

So we're to assume the person holding the gun was "prudent" or even "reasonably so"?

    Don't think so.
I don't think you're taking your time reading the definition. It's saying "not taking precautions a prudent person would take."

The shooter in this case did not take the precautions a prudent person would, therefore he was negligent.

    I sure wouldn't call that a ND.

    Nothing negligent about it.

    Merriam-webster definition of negligence:

failure to exercise the care that a reasonably prudent person would exercise in like circumstances

    :dunno: :dunno: :dunno:

    Don't think so.

    "Don't think so".:n00b:

    Thus................making it negligent. :dunno:
