I thought as a fun way to edu-ma-kate the newbies we could start a thread on self-defense and firearms myths commonly believed in society. What's your favorite one?

My favorite myth: A .45 handgun is so powerful it'll knock a man over with one hit!!!!

    OC makes you a target.
    Lifetime is going away.
Don't need more than 7/10 bullets.
    Guns are evil/bad.
    Nobody needs an AR-15/military rifle/assault rifle/etc.
    Bacon is bad for you.

Racking a shotgun makes people flee in terror.

    That's a good one.

Normally if someone invades your home while you're there they intend to hurt you (that's a large part of the fun) and think they can get away with it.

I keep my long guns without anything in the chamber so I have to rack, but then again luring them up the stairs and down the dark hallway doesn't bother me. Hahaha

AK-47's are so inaccurate you can't hit the ground if you are aiming at it.

AR-15's are so unreliable they malfunction if you even give them a dirty look.

I always heard that that is the difference between a Fairy Tale and a Sea Story, but things can have more than one meaning.
