I picked up a Zastava M70A in 9mm today from Bradis, always wanted something in the Tokarev design and already have 9mm stocked deep so I figured what the hell.

Is this a safe gun to carry? I have a new production M70A, but I've heard the safety on it is pure junk, and that they're not drop safe. Does the safety block the firing pin from moving at all, or does it just stop the trigger from moving? I didn't buy this with the intention of carrying it concealed, but if it's safe I might as well get a IWB holster for it.

Edit: On a second note, this is the official website. Read the description in a Serbian accent.

M57 is one of my favorite pistols. I just had a trigger job done on it in fact, but won't get it out to the range until next week. I have never seen or handled the M70A, but if the safety is similar:

1.) The production model safety is smoother than the milsurp model.
2.) Safety stops the trigger, and also moves the hammer away from the pin.

I don't carry it condition one, but have not heard any anecdotal negatives to doing so. Haven't researched it all, either, so your mileage may vary.
