Ruger Speed Six, still have it. Didn't really play any role other than making me hate shooting magnum loads out of small frame revolvers. That thing is a dream to shoot +P .38 specials out of though.
It was a 21st birthday gift from my dad so that determined the selection.
Traded in within a year for a glock 27, because I wanted something more concealable. Still had no idea what I was doing. Not a friendly handgun to shoot, but I learned to to shoot it and can (pretty much) be pie plate accurate with any handgun now.
Smith & Wesson SD40VE. (Future) FIL asked if I had a pistol (I didn’t). Said “no daughter of mine is going to live in a house without a pistol” and gave it to me.
How big of an impact did it make on you? Did it play a role in making other handguns easier to shoot more accurately? What was the determining on your selection?
The first handgun that I purchased was a Glock 27. At the time I was a Corrections Officer and wanted it for back up since the department carried the Glock 22. I loved the Glock 22 but the longer that I had the 27 I more I dislike the .40 cal round. I ended up trading it for some music equipment and then a friend sold me a Glock 30 which I LOVE! Looking for a Glock 43 now....
