With the availability of powder being an issue sometimes, I an exploring other types of powder. I have read on THR and other forums about guys using Winchester WSF under their cast bullets.

From the info I can gleen from the threads I have read, WSF is a slower burning powder and seems to work great at keeping leading down, burns clean and seems to be in the same price range as W-231.

How about it... anyone used it? I have 124gr 9mm and 180gr .40, Profire cast bullets, CCI primers looking at starting with 4.0 gr of WSF.

Update on the WSF, under cast bullets. They shot well, I would say in comparison to W-231. I did notice powder burns on the spent cases, so it may be a little dirtier than 231. The price was a couple of dollars higher, not that much, but, still another negitive. I only shot a couple of mags, so I don't have a real feel for leading. All in all, I don't think I would recommend it, but if it was all I could get, it can be used. :twocents:
