I’m actually drawn to all that brass, but only momentarily.
It is either a later (than WWII) M1 Garand or an earlier one rebuilt with newer parts. The receiver looks as they would have originally looked with multiple shades of green, gray or black. Only the rebuilt re-parkered ones are all the same color.
Did you notice the door in the butt plate was open?
