If i recall, wolf is known for HARD primers meaning if you have a lightened, or light weight firing pin spring, you may not get consistant ignition.

I think he was mistaken. I've always heard Wolf had really HARD primers. :dunno:

    What was your problem specifically?

In my experience (with Wolf SP) Wolf primers are soft - the only softer ones are Federal. I prefer Wolf to all other brands except Federal.

I had thought wolf was known for hard primers, guess it was the OEM already trying to deflect blame for the malfuction.

    What was your problem specifically?
it was fireing two rounds every trigger pull.
it is off to bushmaster to be looked over and repaired. it is scarry to have a bullpup doing that, what ever the malfiction was, it was right next to my cheek.

If you had a preban m17 they had issues with it firing 2 round bursts. Also with that rifle it is very bad to try to polish the sear and ramp to make the trigger pull (which sucks) better. If you want to make the trigger better and less gritty, take the rifle apart and smooth out the slot where the trigger bar goes with some 600 grit paper wrapped around a straight coat hanger. Also smooth the trigger bar itself with the sandpaper. Then use some powdered graphite to lube it in that area.

Powder Valley recommends using the Wolf Magnum small rifle primer for loading .223 ammo. The magnum primer has a harder cup.

Update: I spoke with bushmaster yesterday and they explained that the real issue was that teh steel cases can expand too much.
so i asked how brass expanded more than steel.
teh gun smith explained that it was really that wolf is so underpowered, that the rifle was short stroking. but they replaced the bbl for free.

IMO there is a flaw in the desine of the trigger linkage, that tehy don't want to admit.
