its the old stock, they dont make them anymore. theres no way id switch to the NEW SXT, id consider the OLD SXT which is the "Same Xact Thing" as the black talon or the T-series...
the Black Talon are like new, im thinking about getting some Federal HST tho, cuz i dont want to shoot any of the Black Talon. if i shot someone i'd prolly ask the police for my bullet back!
Here are some pictures of the 9mm 147gr HST against some Hydrashoks and a Golden Sabre, not sure of the weight of the GS though. There is also a .380 Hydrashok in there too.
Everything was shot into wet phone books with the exception of the HST that was shot into water jugs. That one went through 3 jugs, and cracked the back of the 3rd and the front of the 4th.
There's nothing special about black talon. It was new in it's day but a lot of HPs perform just as well these days.
Definitely not worth carrying around old ammo that you've never practiced much with just because you think you might cause a little more damage with each little round.
For my duty Glock 22- 165grn Federal Hydrashocks
For my Glock 27 just switched to 165grn Federal Hydrashocks from Winchester Silvertips
NAA Mini 22lr- CCI Velocitors
Taurus 605- 125grn 357mag Golddots
AR-15 55grn Federal TRU Softpoints and Homebrewed 55grn V-max
DPMS LAR-308 168grn Homebrewed Hornady A-Maxes
Just depends on what needs to be carried that day.
i know theres nothing special about them, it was all the media giving the round a bad name.. its older ammo, but it shouldnt matter right? it still shoots.. having that ammo in my gun is just another way to personalize my gun.. i mean who else can say that they carry Black Talon? now i dont want anything to happen to the ammo either cuz its so rare so im prolly be swapping barrels in my Glock 22 to a 9mm and use the Federal HST's ive got coming to me....
