Out of inexperience with mounting systems, I have a few questions:

I got an EGW 40600 Weaver 93 rail and wish to mount a Trijicon RMR to it. I bought a low mount Trijicon RM34W to attach to the rail. The mount has a bit of play when placed in the rail slot AND not tightened. Mount is a Trijicon RM34W. So my questions:

    1) Is this normal or should the slot bolt on the mount be a snug fit (1/8" of play, front-to-back currently within the slot)
    2) If it is not a proper fit, do you have any suggestions on how I can remedy this? I have only found one other weaver mount for the RMR and really don't want to buy them all to see if it's just my inexperience, or if this is normal!

When tightened it probably won't move around - but probably isn't good enough!

    TIA

Should have added this question too:

    3) Is there anything I should do to prevent the marring of the rail by the mount? e.g. use of fabric etc, or should I not worry about it?
