My parents let me watch it this first time when I was a teen (13/14). I watch it at least once every 3 months.

What did you expect? "Welcome, sonny"? "Make yourself at home"? "Marry my daughter"? You've got to remember that these are just simple farmers. These are people of the land. The common clay of the new West. You know... morons.

Blazing Saddles was on, last week I think, and they cut out the scene where he is first riding into town and the old miner is up there screaming, "the sherriff's a N*DONG*". They went to a commercial right at the start of the scene and came back as he was already in town. It was USA or TNT, I don't remember for sure.

Blazing saddles is a classic! The wife and I have most of the Mel Brooks movies on DVD. History of the World Part I and High Anxiety are two you should check into.

There are a couple of youtube "Young Frankenstein" blooper videos that are just hilarious. Gene Wilder and Madelein Kahn trying to struggle through their lines and can't do it because of laughing.

Terri Garr (remember her?) is in the cuts as well.
