Congratulations, I am always glad to see someone be able to get what he really likes.

In the 70's, A 6" Python and a Gold cup were two things you were proud to have in your Pachmyer bullseye pistol box. A Unertl spotting scope on the bracket was the icing on the cake. That set up was way difficult to afford, but once you got it, you were proud.

I don't have the Python or the Gold Cup anymore, I don't even have the pistol box or the spotting scope, but I am glad I had a chance to enjoy them at that time in my life.

I hope you really enjoy yours.
If you had that pistol box it would be worth 300-500 on ebay. I have been wanting one but the nice ones go for crazy money.

@macolesby , beautiful Colt. If I read your post correctly you bought a 6" but wanted an 8"?
I've owned a 6" Anaconda (don't remember why I sold it. Probably to buy a car, or a house, or some other trinket.) and currently have a S&W 29 8 3/8" with full underlug. Both were/are great fun at the range. All that barrel weight really tames the recoil of the stoutest loads, and makes target loads feel like a .38.
Their accuracy would make them fine hunting guns, as well, I imagine.

My problem is I can't decide which is the better looking between a Freedom Arms single action, or the Korth revolvers from Nighthawk.
    A real dilemma.

    I know, I know.....first world problems.

I don't have a colt snake gun, I want one just because.

I do like my Smith & Wesson wheelies, to name a favorite would be like picking my favorite kid. I just love them all.

I know this is not a pistol box thread, but Steve Locatelli out of Colorado had one made out of "parquetry" for lack of a better word, that was an absolute marvel of woodworking skill. I remember he was scoring my target at Perry one year and I felt like a puke standing next to him with my $70 (or whatever) Gun-Ho from Gil Hebard :thatshot:

In my humble opinion, no revolver has ever been as gorgeous as the Colt Python. I was able to end up with a new production Python in 4 1/4".

I know it’s not a python, but I like it, I actually won it! I volunteer for the friends of the nra and the chairman picks a gun that’s left over (not won or given away) and draws the name of a committee member and they win a gun, last time I won a smith and Wesson m&p 22 pistol (full size, the one made in Germany by Walther) this time I won a heritage rough rider it looks like it’s nickel plated, and it has rosewood nra grips.

Will I ever shoot it? Idk I actually won a heritage rough rider in a raffle about 5 years ago (blue with walnut grips) that I haven’t shot yet.
