So, Obama is going to be 20 minutes north of me in Rochester, NH this afternoon in a common park. To prevent shenanigans, the city is building him a fortress with school buses! Back to back to back, surrounding the entire park, without a foot of space between them. It must be good to be king. Oh, and the city is paying for it...along with all security, safety, and public works. For some reason I can't find anyone doing a story on the fortress of school buses, I have lots of friends up there living a few blocks from the event. I guess he wouldn't want to have to hear/see protesters or anyone to get in that has not gotten a ticket (they are free from DNC offices locally). I understand the protecting the POTUS aspect of it....but it does seem a bit excessive. The story below has the event, but not the bus aspect.

They had better build a 'fort' of, say, corvettes around the buses before any of the real or imagined BGs figure out how to kneel or lie prone!

In Kenwood (Chicago, where he lives) they use cement trucks and Jersey barriers.

BTW, after Obama won, 4 Chinooks flew into Washington Park (Hyde Park) with guns and gear. All kinds of weapons. The floors must groan under the weight of the ammo and guns.

This is what my friends in Hyde Park go through when Obama is in town for fundraising:

Someone called in a "man with a gun on his hip" "near" where the president was going to be speaking. Turns out it was a bb gun.....and the man was half a mile away.....and the law here in NH is that anyone who is not a felon (or otherwise prohibited by federal law) can open carry a pistol without a permit.... The whole thing was nonsense.

Google street view shows the "fortifications" at Hyde Park and his street...the opening in the concrete barrier blocked by a single cruiser must be for when he's not home.

By 3:30 p.m., no one could enter Woodlawn Avenue between Hyde Park Boulevard and Ellis Avenue without a picture ID proving they belonged in the area. Longtime residents were familiar with the routine, as well as the first rule

    Demanding "picture ID"??

This can NOT BE. Where is Eric Holder+his "Men" to strike down this practice-You know??-The same as at the election pols.....Bill.

Last weekend we were treated here in NWI to armed F-16's circling overhead, twice. I don't know what they were doing but they were definitely armed with 4 missiles each. My guess is they were "escorting" small aircraft to the Lansing Municipal Airport in Lansing, IL when said small aircraft "violated" the "no-fly zone".

F-16 can carry inert missiles for training, the only visible difference is a blue band instead of a yellow one.
