Best thing to do....when you get it, break it down and completely clean and lube. I have found crap in brand new guns. It will be good practice and if you need any help just PM and I will help you with this.

I found each 1911 is different in regards to magazines. My Sig 1911 commander does not like the expensive Tripp magazines everyone raves about but the factory $18 Check Mate ones work great.

Congrats on your first 1911. The kimber ultra carry II was my first 1911 and got me started. Good luck and enjoy!

Well I didn't realize Bradis was open today until I checked online. I made my way down there and picked it up then I went home, read the manual, broke it down, and cleaned everything. All the parts looked great and there was no extra stuff to cause any problems so I lubed it up and reassembled it and then went on over to BGF's range and put 100 rounds through it. No hiccups or issues whatsoever. My only problem was affording the ammo to shoot more. I'll have to wait for the next paycheck before I can break it in all the way.

Congrats on your Kimber. I've had a great experience with both of my Kimbers. One was an Ultra Carry and the other is a Compact Stainless. Over the years, I did have issues with the stock Kimber mags but I rebuilt them with Wilson Combat rebuild kits ($14 each) and they have been great since. I made the mistake of selling my Ultra Carry a little while back when I needed a bit of cash and wish it were back in the safe again. My Kimber stainless is still my favorite 1911 for carry. It's been a faithful companion through many many days.

It's nice to see yours is working well for you.
