Tactical Shotgun Match - Danville Rifle & Pistol Club

Danville Rifle & Pistol Club annual Tactical Shotgun match is scheduled for Saturday, October 22nd. If you're not familiar with Tactical Shotgun, or just need a refresher, then please read on. Information and a sign up link is below.

This is a single-gun shotgun-only match that focuses around the same principals as Tactical 2-Gun, just with a shotgun instead of a rifle and handgun. Stages feature cover, slicing the pie, target priority, challenging shots, and more. This is not a run-'n'-gun like you might be used to in other competitions featuring shotguns. We will have 3 scenario based stages. Targets will be mostly steel with some clay birdies and paper targets mixed in. Birdshot will be the primary ammunition, but we will also have 2 slug-only targets. Expect a round count of around 50 birdshot. Absolutely no buckshot ammunition of any type will be allowed as it damages the steel targets. You don't need a sling for your shotgun, but you may use one if you want. Cost for the match is only $10 for everyone (members & non-members).

Here's What You Can Expect:​ 3 Courses of Fire 50 birdshot round count 2 slug round count Minimum Required Equipment:​ Shotgun ANY shotgun is allowed A sling is NOT required for this match, but is permitted Some form of ammunition carrying device is recommended (pouch, bag, belt carrier, bandolier, side saddle, etc.) Birdshot for steel targets Slugs for slug targets Chamber flag A pair of work gloves for resetting the steel targets is recommended
