Hello All ,and Happy New Year.
Four years ago I purchased this all matching (except for the buttplate)very rare 1900 short rifle...
As you can see it had some issues. It had the original butt plate removed and a bakelite one put on. Also, the forstock was cut in two pieces, and the tigerstriped stock was sanded down smooth. Well ,I decided to put it back into military configuration. I met a stock maker named Bob at a gunshow and had him restore the stock for me.
Here he is, working on the stock...
Here is the rifle now, I am pleased with his work.
Here are some of the proof /inspection marks on the metal.
This turned out better than I expected, Im glad I could bring her back.
Here's a funny one, I bought a buttplate on e-bay 3 yrs ago and the number is 192, my rifle is 162, LOL!
