Looking at getting a set of the Swampfox Hostile Engagement Rings , they allow you to mount a Redot right on the side of the mount itself. Anyone have any experience with these or rings/mounts like it ? Curious to see if there’s any downside to having it on the same mount as the scope rather than a separate offset mount. Will be going on an AR10 for reference.

Interesting, not seen these yet. Looking forward to useful feedback myself.

I use the Arisaka mount @35°. My first impression on this is: looks high off the bore. Wondering if it will be in natural line of sight when transitioning.

I have the Swampfox setup. I like it well enough. It does take some getting used to the motion of rotating the rifle to switch to the dot, but it's not terribly difficult to do with some practice. I haven't shot a gun with a separate offset RDS mount so I don't have anything else to compare it to.

I have my dot mounted on the right side and rotate the rifle down and to the left (ejection port facing up) to engage with the red dot.
