Anyone familiar with the original model 1915 favorite?
My stepson inherited his Great Grandpas. We know they were made from about 1898 - 1930.
Not to many markings on it, On the barrel it has

    .22 Long Rifle
Springfield tool with a Chicopee falls address

Top of the receiver has a faint FAVORITE stamped on it

    Bottom tang has K 506

Thats it for markings. The block closes fully, but the lever drops a little bit. From reading on line the screw or bushing is wore,
I don't remember the places name but they sell a few parts for them.

Think its safe to shoot a few standard velocity 22's?
Overall condition is very nice, nice color to the patina, very little surface pitting, the inside of the barrel could use a good brushing but isnt terrible, wood is in very good shape with his GGpa's initials carved in the stock.

I suck a posting pics, I'll see if he wants to try it later.

I've had quite a few (maybe 100 or so) Stevens Favorites and have never seen a springfield barrel on one. All of them have/had "J Stevens" on it. And about 30% of them say it upside down.
