-EDIT: No longer for sale here, decided to try to sell this on GunBroker instead.-
This is a nice Springfield 68, chambered in .50-70 Government. The stock may have been sanded at some point in the past, and the front sling swivel is missing, but overall the metal parts are in pretty good shape for being over 140 years old. The breechblock is dated 1870 and the lock plate is dated 1863, likely indicating it was reused from a Civil War rifled musket. The serial numbers on the barrel and receiver are matching. Everything functions properly; the breech closes up tight, the hammer/cock spring is still strong and there's a solid half-cock position.
I'm in Bloomington and am willing to make a bit of a drive to meet up with any prospective buyer. Asking $500.
