Some .308 rifles held up upon import?

I was in Trialdust Surplus today and Nyle (owner) was telling me he just read an article were Obamas 'state' department is beginning to toy with the idea of refusing import and export of military calibers.

Is this true? Please forward me to the right article if I am WAY behind.

Nyle said he read it in a very recent gun magazine. He may have said Gun digest?

Yea because that has worked so well in other countries that have done it, like Mexico which apparently is in the middle of another internal Narco war with it's resident/domestic cartel's.

ATF has been doing that since Bush the First. They have found that blocking or banning imports does not affect our right to keep and bear arms since it deals with trade embargos and not firearm bans. It just happens that the import ban deals with firearms, ammo, and parts. Sort of an end around the second amendment.

Yes that is true, it also should be noted that Bush001's policies helped to start the "Patriot Movement".

And is still one of the reasons there are so many of us conservatives who are still so distrusting of the Republican party.

How does imported ammo like Wolf,Prvi Part., surplus ammo etc make it in with the ban?

I am fairly certain they'd be targeted, I mean how else (besides an outright tax) is the Obama administration supposed to quadruple ammunition prices over night?
