Has anyone ever seen or shot their handguns using Sig's ACP? At first it seem like a cool accessory but I just don't know how useful it is. I mean besides "improving" ergonomics all this does is make your gun well... bigger. I suppose recoil control and therefore follow up shots can be faster but I just question the practicality of it.

Not a bad idea but maybe anyone has a first hand experience with it. Since I own P220 and 226 already this is rather tempting but purely as a toy.

Looks like the standard and enhanced ACP device may NOT need a tax stamp as there is no stock and no VFG.

    The the LE one...yes.

My brother-in-law carries a 229 for duty. And he has his own 229 as well.

I just texted him with the link asking him when he'll be buying one. - no response yet, but he may very well have been dispatched / tasked out east somewhere to work security.

    Not that OUR opinion matters...

But any one else's thoughts on the "Standard" and the "Enhanced" not making a pistol an SBR?

Hadn't seen that accessory for my Sig yet. Very interested to find out more. Anyone have experience with one? I'd anticipate it enhances accuracy greatly. Probably difficult to conceal:):

Too bad I had sold my Sig,otherwise I would be all over that stock for sale for $275

You might want to go back and watch that video again. Only the LE version requires the tax stamp. It also works with ANY full sized handgun with a rail system, not just Sigs.

Patrick Sweeney was all hyped up about this in a recent issue of Guns & Ammo.

IMO this is the dumbest "accessory" I've ever seen.

You take a handgun, slap this big heavy thing around it, make it more complex, and then add a red dot, a light, and a single point sling, and its supposed to be "better"? This is a solution looking for a problem.

Apparently Sweeney doesn't realize that you can already have a red dot and a light on your pistol and still maintain its ability to be carried concealed.

Now, SBR the handgun and add a stock and it all makes much more sense. I still don't think the ACP is the ideal solution but its certainly more useful than as a pistol-only.

AMEN!! I read the article in G&A by Sweeny and wondered what the hell he was thinking. If you want a place to hang a bunch of redundant stuff off a handgun, this is for you. I keep scrathing my head and asking why. BTW if you see the cover of G&A you'll be asking yourself why there is a separate laser, laser+light, holosite, etc all on the rig at the same time. If I had that kind of money to spend on the accessory holder and all those accesories, I'd just put the cash in for a stamp and have a quality SBR.
