Been many years since I've been out looking for mushrooms with my dad and grandfather and a few life long family friends but happened to be out today with my family and took a quick peak at something I thought I recognized off the trail. This was the end result:

My son's first find:

Brought a smile to my face since my grandfather passed away just about two years ago and this time of year always brings back those memories.

For those not familiar with fall mushrooms those are Hen of the Woods or Sheepheads

Great score! Haven't seen any this year yet. Hen of the woods are my favorite mushroom.

Never tried those, but when i lived out in Washington we'd go Chantrelle(sp) hunting every year, nothing like some venison and fresh picked mushrooms ill tell ya what!
