Mine is large and yet light weight. It has a huge hole, not a thumb stud. Carbon V steel blade takes a great edge. Oh yea, when I got 10 years ago, I paid $40 for it.
The Carbon V steel is actually very good.
I was just told this story by a friend of mine a week or so ago:
When he was in the military he found this old beat up blade overseas. He figured it was cheap and began using it figuring it would fail and he'd just throw it away. He said he beat on that knife for a long long time and was simply amazed that it took the abuse and then some. Later he started searching for what model of knife it was. He found out it was a Cold Steel made from Carbon V.
Knowing him, that is a pretty good testament to how well the steel holds up, especially since the other knives he had at the time were made by Jerry Busse.
