Am mounting an eotech on my ar flattop receiver. When bore sighting my sight plane is significantly higher than the bore plane. I don't want to excessively use the sight adjustment - it seems I must use a shim on the rear of the optic to lower the sight plane. HELP! What should I use as a shim? Maybe my best answer is a good gunsmith before I screw something up.

I know Beech Grove Guns has a gunsmith in, on occasion. Any other suggestions for a qualified smith?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

I shimmed my shotgun scope with a couple small pieces of folded beer can. Just cut a small square, fold it over, and install under the mount. Worked like a charm for me.
