Just to make MY OWN position clear, I am not arguing the effectiveness of wearing or not wearing a seat belt on my person in the event of a crash or not a crash.

I am arguing the effect on my freedom and dignity as a grown adult human being of allowing other people to dictate to me something so simple and basic to everyday life as to whether I am to fasten a seat belt of not when I sit down in my vehicle tomorrow morning.

The good, bad, save lives or destroy them, stinks or smells good bull crap is all totally irrelevant. It's nothing but an excuse one adult uses to rationalize their stuck up preachy effort to give orders to another human being. They think they are superior to everyone else to the point they have to dictate to the ignorant herd masses for their own good. Allowing it for your own good only confirms their intent and smug intentions they can barely conceal long enough to speak to you.

Guess what! I can read. I've seen accidents. I've read the same reports you have and I've probably driven a vehicle longer and more miles than most of you. I don't give a flying whoopi if you wear your belt of not and I sure as heck don't care anymore than that what your opinion is of me wearing mine so MIND YOUR OWN BUSINESS AND GET OUT OF THE WAY SO I CAN CLOSE THIS CAR DOOR.

All that "they do or they don't enforce it' crap is nothing but another "tool", read excuse, for the cops to drag you over like the Gestapo and rummage through your personal property, interrogate you by the road side, and demand your official government "papers" that give you PERMISSION to travel while they search for a reason to arrest you.

Let's talk about other parts of cars now.....brake and headlights. Should we have to use them and yeah they may or may not help save lives, but who cares?
Under Indiana law we're required to use vehicle lights. Since driving is a privilege and the state expects drivers to obey certain rules to be able to drive, but hey what if I don't want to use my vehicle lights I shouldn't get a ticket for it. Stupid money making nothing better to do nazi police? . :D

Ban motorcycles? So you want to put thousands of more people out of work on top of all the unemployed already, cause you think motorcycles are dangerous. Are you a politician? :stickpoke:

Lets think about something else here. The Constitution grants the people other rights, not specificlly listed to the Government or elsewhere in the document.

Don't you think one of those rights is the right of transportation? Even though it's not specificly listed, don't you think you have the right to transportation? Be it through driving, or owning a horse, you have the right to get from place to place. It's not acceptable to walk from Plainfield to Anderson, and especially when weather is harsh. Why should I have to rely on government run buses or someone with a taxi service? That means I must depend on someone else when I am suppose to be self-reliant.

So if you really think about it, driving isn't really a priviledge. They treat it like one, but they also treat it as a right. It can be taken away just as any other right. To make restrictions on it like seat belt laws, they call it a priviledge.

Now really think about that before you call me wrong and go re-read the Bill of Rights before you say it can't be.

Now this is JMHO, but transportion is not a right, someone can pick up a phone, get on the internet and get almost anything ordered you want and have it delivered to you.

Yes, and no. You can't have your sick family member in the hospital brought to you from across the state. You can't have your legislature or town hall meeting delivered to you. It would be nice, but you can't have your local shooting range delivered to you.

So how is transportation not a right?

That doesnt make sense. Your comparing wearing seat belts to driving and brake lights....those put other people at danger, seat belts do not. simple as that. It is my choice and my choice alone if i want to wear a seat belt. Its not even about safety, do you honestly think the gov. gives 2 shits about your life, of course not. they just want your money and to control your lives because they think they are smarter and better than the "average" citizen.

Meh, dont need tires. Rims don't ever go flat! :D

What about windshields? Why do I have to be required to have it replaced just because it has a crack? I can't afford a $200 windshield! I have guns and ammo and BACON to buy!

You can call 911 and get a cop "delivered" to but I don't consider it a substitute for owning my own gun.

So don't buy one. I don't care if YOU have a windshield or not.

So do you consider transportation a right or a priviledge?
    I consider it a right.

Not a right as in I am entitled to a means of transport but I consider it my right to travel about my own country as a free citizen with out seeking permission from any one to do so or make use of public transportation to the degree it does not unduely harm some one else or prevent their making fair use of public property.

I have no right to destroy the road I am using nor to make use of your corn field as if it were a road. You have no right to prevent me from making use or restricting my use of the public road in a manner that does not endanger you or destroy it.
LOL I didn't plan on it! But should I get pulled over again for it, the insurance will!
IMO that should be strictly between you and your chosen insurance company.

In a slave state or oppressive government, be it fascist, communist or socialist, one of the first things they do right along with disarmenment of the slaves is restrict and control travel.

Making you ask permission institutes their authority, the more they make you ask the closer they get you to begging, when they can make you beg then they own you. All for you own good of course, if it will save just one child.
