I have a Safariland 6377, nice holster with great retention. It is a belt loop holster. I am wondering if the paddle accessory would hold the holster closer to the body than the belt loop. Anyone have experience with both?
I have a similar setup and while the belt loop does hold it a little closer to the body but for me the paddle is...I don't want to say more comfortable because it isn't, but it seems like it is easier to use and wear; at least mine is. I use a beltman belt that is rather stiff, so threading the holster onto it and then getting the holster in the right position is a pretty tedious exercise. Whereas using the paddle allows me to shift it as needed.
YMMV
I carry my M&P Shield 9 in a Safariland 6378 when I carry OWB. My experience with it has been that the belt loop attachment rides closer to the body than the paddle does. I use a Daletech Force BioBelt with that holster just fyi.
I'm all about the paddle for all the reasons BillB said. Being LEO I'm not over concerned about concealment while in plain clothes. So if you want that then a belt slide my be a better option
