My hunting partner just got his new thermal in - a Pulsar Apex XQ50. This won't be a really detailed review, since I've only messed with it for a little while, but I'll give my initial thoughts.
Comparing to my IR Hunter...
IR Hunter has a better picture. $5,000 better? No, but it's definitely better. I spotted a deer about 100 yards away. With my IR Hunter, it was easy to tell. With the Pulsar, the picture wasn't as detailed.
Pulsar has better native magnification than the IR Hunter. This does help with the lack of detail.
User interface is much nicer with the IR Hunter. Pulsar isn't as nice, but it's useable.
All in all, Pulsar makes a decent thermal at a reasonable price.
