I'd say to enter those specs into a ballistic calculator and see what the difference will be at whatever distance you want to shoot at. I would recommend applied ballistics and if you've got a kestrel just plug the difference in the software and see how big of a difference it makes. It will make a difference, just a matter of how much.
This helps. Didn’t think of the calculator. I use strelok and it doesn’t factor that.

If you know someone with a kestrel with applied ballistics you could have them enter it into that. If not, I can put a screenshot up sometime and enter it into mine and let you know. It's probably going to make nearly the difference you think it could, but you never know.

That would be great. PM me sometime if you remember.

With that barrel and action… I’m curious what kind of groupings it gave you

It was nice outside today, so I decided to throw some lead down the pipe. After getting the barrel warmed up, here's a 7 shot group I did today. Not great. Not terrible. The flyer on the left and the lack of main grouping is definitely more me than the rifle. I've got some work to do on my fundamentals.

What really surprised me is the 5 shot grouping I did with a 6.5 Grendel AR that I just put together with a very lightly used PSA barrel that I bought from a guy on this site (2nd photo). 4 shots touching at 100 yards with one flyer (again, my fault).

Strelok does factor spin drift, click the "target with a paper in front of it" icon. It will bring you to this page.
This is interesting. I cant seem to find that on mine... Maybe I have a different version that you? Screenshot_2024-02-21-23-52-25.png
This is on an older android and hasnt been updated since maybe 2018

Does yours look like this? If so it's the second icon out of the eight icons at the bottom.
Yep there's the difference. You have a different version.

I might be stuck with this one. Ive been told that Strelok isn't in the play store anymore. Not sure what hapoened.

Its still quite a useful tool although I've had to record a lot of data for spin drift. Eventually I came up for a formula for 22lr spin drift to help me estimate.

If you download an app called Aptoide.apk, it's an alternative app store you can download the version I have.

Aghh I keep forgetting to check my kestrel and see what difference the twist rate makes at distance according to that software. I'll put that on my list to do when I get home... again..... What caliber would you be interested to know this on. In my kestrel I've got 223, 6.5cm, 308, and 338LM

For 223 I think it would be interesting to know the difference between 1/7 and 1/9

Strelok got "banned" from IOS and Android stores because of "Russia sanctions" according to our caring .gov.
You can download the newest apk file or get it from the Samsung store. There's also a good Facebook group where Igor replies to his users.
