I walked into work early yesterday (work at a local tv station) to this unfolding. I have become numb to pretty much all news after 20 years in the industry except news like what happened yesterday and anything about kids passing away. It wasn’t until I watched the procession taking the fallen officers body from one hospital to another that I felt sad. In my 20 years of local tv, this is the third officer killed in action. I still remember Brent long, I remember joe watts losing it on air and knowing the officer didn’t make it. I remember rob pitts and when the pio for the thpd was interviewed on tv and almost losing it that it wasn’t good. I was at work yesterday getting ready when thpd said they didn’t want a press conference aired live and when I heard escort officer from the feed from live feed from the press conference as it was being recorded, I knew it wasn’t good. I said it with the previous two, if I never see another funeral for an officer down in the line of duty, I would be happy. Of course I know it very well could happen again. I hope the person who did this enjoys life in club fed, knowing the officer down was assigned to an fbi task force and was on/near fbi office building, this won’t be a state case long if it ever was.

To all the Leo’s on here, stay safe and I hope that you never have to go through this with your department.

Greg Ferency walked out of the building and the document says Meehan shot him. FBI Special Agent Ryan Lindgren ran out, engaging Meehan in a gun battle.

During the gun battle, the document states Meehan was shot twice before getting into his truck and fleeing the building.

Law enforcement officials found Meehan at a Terre Haute hospital where he underwent surgery for his gunshot wounds. The court document states a firearm and three Molotov Cocktails were discovered in Meehan’s tuck along with additional ammunition.

I’ve read this several times trying to make what wrote as something positive about Regional. But, “no one I know personally has survived their care” isn’t something that gives me any confidence in the care given at Regional. Am I misunderstanding this post ?
