    Savage 110, flat receiver.

I'm having troubles with a scope remount.
I have a Bushnell Elite with a short tube and
need to place the front ring over the ejection port of the receiver.
I normally use weaver 2 pc. mounts so I ordered the extended front
base along with the matching rear base and re-installed the scope.

The scope is WAY out of alignment.

I would like to switch to a one piece mount and am considering
the Leupold or Burris types with the windage adjustments.
Is anyone using one of these types of mounts?
Will the offset front ring that is available move the ring rearward?

    Thanks

Have you tried aligning the scope rings before you mount the scope? I use a combo Bedding/Alignment tool for mine scope installation. Might go to local Home Depot and Pick up a 1 in Dowel and cut a piece about 8 in long and see if you can get them in alignment. OR cut 2 4 in pieces and put one in each ring to see how far out of alignment you are. Might be able to adust each a little and get somwhat closer.

That is one of the reasons I hate Savages. Round front mount and a flat rear mount 1/4' lower.
You're going to have to shim the rear mount or take material off the bottom.
I use a boresighter and a level with a laser to get the rear base set.

Can you get pictures of it?

I'm using Burris Sig Zee rings almost exclusively. You can get offset inserts to accomodate the misalignments which sometimes occur. I had the same issue with one M12 that ran out of windage adjustment in the scope and was still about 3" off. Offset inserts turned 90 degrees resolved the issue. An older M12, which I've sold, had the flat rear and required a shim under the base and the Sig Zees. All 3 of my newer Savage M12s have rounded recievers, front and rear. Do the newer long-action Savages still use the flat-rear reciever?

Thanks everyone, I solved the problem with the windage adjustable rear mount and the offset front mount.
    Worked like a charm.

    Thanks again.
