Okay, this is about as off topic as it can get. I have a Kendall Oil advertising clock that hung in my dad’s garage/service station back in the 50’s and 60’s. The clock ran fine for several years but no longer works - neither the clock mechanism nor the fluorescent light. I tried buying another florescent bulb but it blew out when I plugged it in.

A friend of mine suggested I replace the fluorescent bulb with an LED bulb. I’ve purchased one at Lowes and now need help knowing how to wire it. There is a ballast in the clock that was replaced at some point. The ballast (a white rectangular small box) has a black wire and a white wire coming out one end that goes to the power source. (Hot and neutral ?). There are four wires (two red and two blue) wrapped with a white covering that plugs into the florescent tube that come out of the other end of the box.

Assuming I can do away with the ballast as not needed for the LED bulb - how do I wire in the new bulb ? Here are some pics of the wiring as it exists now. I also have a replace the clock motor I am also planning to install.

How you wire, depends on the new LED.

Is the LED a direct replacement for the florescent?

Is the LED a 110vac replacement?

    Etc
