It is a step in the right direction, but like was mentioned above, I figure there is no way it will get through the Senate, so I am not jumping for joy just yet.

That and I can see some potential future issues concerning the government should it actually pass.

Well it's got some bipartisan support, it would be real interesting to see it pass the Senate.

The fact that the NRA backs it works for me. Am I being naive? They have more time and resources to completely read/understand the entire bill. I've simply read the summary, so I'm going with their opinion and taking it for gold. Is that wrong?:dunno:

Glad it passed. Some are unhappy because it has no allowance for states like VT that do not require a license and support a constitutional view. That said, I'd like to see it passed. It would be "better" than what we have now.

Wait a minute! I thought the Republicans held the majority in the Senate? Why wouldn't this be approved by the Senate?

I just emailed Senators Lugar and Coats to state my support!

Sen Lugar has conducted an enlistment ceremony every year at IMS since 1979. Perhaps working this into a letter might help. I'd venture to say a large population of LTCH are prior military, or military supporters. Its fuzzy logic, but if he's so proud of supporting the military, perhaps HR 822 would show support. Voting against is would not. I dunno.. thinking out loud here.

Maybe I'm mistaken? In the past when national reciprocity has been discussed, wasn't there always a concern that our good Indiana laws could be compromised when under the Federal cloak?

This is my concern with the bill. As it stands, I think it is fine, but it does open the door to federal regulation of carry at the local level which certainly frightens me.

Go to the 2nd amendment section, Lugar the RINO isn't supportive of the bill. He needs to go as his track record has already shown, he's not really one of the good guys. Time to write him another letter and tell him to enjoy his last term in office.

No. The Republicans control the House. The Senate is still under Socialist control. ;)

You are absolutely right. I'm not sure how I got that mixed up. I'm not sure I like this, because what the federal government gives, it can also take away.

There are still some Dems who have to act pro-gun because they are in swing states. However, I doubt they would cross Harry Reid unless they thought they wouldn't be struck down by the god of liberalism.

You got it mixed up because every media reports says the Republicans in the Senate blocked this or that bill even though they do not control the Senate.
